Bakery Owners To Avoid Increasing The Prices Of Bakery Products

Image result for baker productsThe Bakery Owners Association Of Sri Lanka has today(12) said the prices of Bakery Products will not be increased although prices of several raw materials used to make Bakery Products have been increased already.

Due to the several taxes proposed through the budget proposals-2016 the prices of several raw materials used to make Bakery Products including wheat flour have been increased according to Association.

However the Consumer Affairs Authority has earlier warned it will sue some Flour Importing Companies here which increased the Flour Price illegally by Rs.2 per Kilo Gramme.

Foreign Specialist Doctors To Ease The Shortage Of Specialist Doctors In The Country-Health Minister

Specialist Doctors will be imported   from other countries  to ease  the shortage of Specialist Doctors   in the country if other methods have failed according to Minister Of Health,Nutrition  And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

The Health Ministry is planning to increase the passing rate of Post Graduate Doctors to ease the shortage of specialist doctors in the country and it that  fails the Ministry is having no other option than importing Specialist Doctors from other countries the Minister has said.

Several Foreign Countries have already agreed to supply specialist doctors to Sri Lanka he has further said.

Police Have Arrested Two Persons Including A Lawyer Who Have Led A Protest Campaign Against Meethotamulle Garbage Dumped Site

The Police have today(11) arrested two persons including Lawyer Nuwan Bopage who have led a Protest Campaign recently against the  Garbage Dumped  Site in Meethotamulle(In Colombo) by violating a court order issued against the protest.

The two individuals have been released on bail after being produced before Colombo Magistrate Court today.

It has been reported around 700 Metric Tonnes of Garbage is being dumped daily to the 16 acre garbage dumped site in Meethotamulle which threatening the health of residents in the area .

The residents lives near the Garbage Dumped Site have continuously protested by calling the removal of the  Site from the area citing health risks.

Health Minister Has Instructed The Officials To Prepare And Produce Regulations To Regulate All SPA'S In The Country

The Minister Of Health ,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has today(11) instructed the Health Ministry Officials to prepare and produce new regulations to  regulate all the Massage Centers known as "SPA'S" in the country which are running by  using the name " Ayurveda" within one month period.

A large number of complaints have been received by the Health Ministry up to now regarding  massage centers which are running in the country by using the name "Ayurveda" illegally according to the Health Minister.

Two Persons Have Drowned Off The Cast At Galle Face -One Pronounced As Dead

Two Persons including a 16 year old boy from Maligawatte (In Colombo) have drowned off the coast at Galle Face (In Colombo)according to the Police.

The 16 year old boy has drowned first and a 34 year old person  from Maligawatte Area who joined the search team comprising Navy and Police which searching the drowned boy , has critically injured  after slipped and fallen in to the Sea Police have said.However the person fallen in to the sea   has pronounced as dead  upon admission to Colombo National Hospital the Police have said.

A Person With 32,828 Illegally Imported Cigarettes In His Possession Has Been Arrested At Slave Island

Image result for illegally imported cigarettesThe Officers attached to Fraud Control Unit of the Western Province have today(11) arrested a Person with 32,828 illegally imported Cigarettes in his possession at Stuart Place in Slave Island (In Colombo).

The 46 year old suspect has been arrested per the information received by Fraud Control Unit.The suspect is due to be produced before Fort Magistrate Court.

A Daughter Was Killed And Her Mother Got Injured After Being Hit At A Train In Kandy

A Daughter  was killed and her Mother  has critically  injured and hospitalized after being hit by a Train at the Railway Crossing in  Kandy Town this evening.

The remains of the deceased Female has been kept at the Kandy General Hospital for Autopsy .

The injured Mother  is under treatment at Intensive Care Unit  of  the Kandy General Hospital according to sources.

India Forced Sri Lanka To Drop The Plans Of Purchasing Fighter Air Crafts From Pakistan

Due to the strong opposition from India,Sri Lanka has forced to drop the plans of  purchasing JF-17 Thunder Fighter Air Crafts from Pakistan according to the Indian Media.

Sri Lanka Has signed an agreement with Pakistan last week to purchase eight JF-17 Thunder Fighter Air Crafts costing US Dollars 400 million  from Pakistan during Pakistani Premier Nawaz Shariff's visit here last week.

No Threat Of Spreading H1N1 Influenza-A Virus In Sri Lanka-Ministry Of Health

The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine has today(10) assured there's no threat of spreading H1N1 Influenza -A Virus  ,Popularly known as Swine Flu in Sri Lanka.

There's no truth on  some media reports that stated   three H1N1 Patients have been identified at Vavuniya Hospital (In Northern Province) according to the Ministry.

There were So many H1N1 suspected cases reported from Sri Lankan Government Hospitals during last few months and as they have given treatment  successfully people should not panic on a H1N1 Epidemic in Sri Lanka. Health Ministry has further said.

Government To Prepare Constitutional Amendment Bill Within Next Six Months

The new constitution will be replaced the current 1978 Constitution headed by Executive President.

Within next three month period Government will seek opinions and views from the General Public regarding the Constitutional Amendments the Minister has said.

Sri Lankan Navy Has Arrested Five Persons When They Attempted To Smuggle A Stock Of Sea Cucumber To The Country

Sea Cucumbers - Holothuroidea - Seewalzen / Seegurken: Species on this page: Actinopyga, Bohadschia, Colochirus, Euapta, Holothuria, Neothyonidium, Opheodesoma, Pentacta, Pseudocolochirus, Stichopus, Synapta, Synaptula, ThelenotaSri Lankan Navy have today(10) arrested Five Persons at Kappaladi in Kalpitiya(In North Western  Province) when they attempted to smuggle a stock of Sea Cucumber weighing 950 Kilo Grammes to the country from India via sea.

The Navy has also arrested the small fishing craft the suspects have been used to transport the stock of sea cucumber to the country.

The detained stock of Cucumber has been estimated as worth around Rs.10 million according to the Navy.

The Navy have handed over the Suspects along with the stock of cucumber to the Officials at Puttalam to take a legal action.
