Sri Lankan Navy have today(10) arrested Five Persons at Kappaladi in Kalpitiya(In North Western Province) when they attempted to smuggle a stock of Sea Cucumber weighing 950 Kilo Grammes to the country from India via sea.The Navy has also arrested the small fishing craft the suspects have been used to transport the stock of sea cucumber to the country.
The detained stock of Cucumber has been estimated as worth around Rs.10 million according to the Navy.
The Navy have handed over the Suspects along with the stock of cucumber to the Officials at Puttalam to take a legal action.
