Minuwangoda Magistrate Has Further Remanded The Main Suspect Of Five Year Old Girl's Rape And Murder Case

Image result for remandedThe Minuwangoda Magistrate has today (16) further remanded the person who found guilty for rape and murder of five year old Seya Sadewmini of Kotadeniyawa Area until 07th of December.

The suspect was further remanded after being produced before Minuwangoda Magistrate Court today(16).Suspect Saman Jayalath has proved as guilty for the rape and murder of five year old girl after his DNA Samples have matched the DNA Samples found from girl's body it has been announced.

The DNA Test was carried out by Gene Tech Institute in Colombo.


Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya Has Appointed As New Chairman Of Election Commission

The Constitutional Council with the approval of President Maithrpala Sirsena has  appointed  Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya as new Chairman Of Election Commission it has been reported.

Ranjeevan Hoole and Nalin Abeysekera have been appointed as members of the Election Commission which was established as an independent Commission under the 19th Amendment.

Presidential Commission To Investigate On Missing Persons In Jaffna District From 11th TO 16Th August.

The Presidential Commission On Investigating   Missing Persons has decided to investigate  complaints received from Jaffna District regarding  Missing Persons during Next Month(December) according to the Commission.

According to Secretary Of The Commission H.W Gunadasa the Complaints  which have received from Jafna District will be investigated during 11-16th Of December .

Around 2500 complaints on missing persons have been  received from Jaffma District  up to now Secretary Of The Commission has said.

Police Have Detained Two Persons With Rs.200,000 Worth Stock Of Wallapatta In Their Possession

The Police have today(15) detained two persons with Rs.200,000 worth Stock Of Wallapatta (A tree use to manufacture perfumes) in their possession at a Bus Stand in Palmadulla Area (Sabaragamuwa Province).

The Kahawatta Police have detained the said persons with around 520 Grammes of Wallapatta in their possession it has been reported.The detained two suspects are residents in Palmadulla Area .

Presidential Commission Inquiring Fraud And Corruption Has Instructed Six Ministries And Govt.Institutions To Remove Thirteen Officials With Immediate Effect

The Presidential Commission Of Inquiry To Investigate  And Inquire Into Serious Acts Of Fraud ,Corruption And Abuse Of Power,State Resources And Privileges has instructed Six Ministries And  Government Institutions to remove Thirteen Higher Officials from their posts due to their attempt to disturb the ongoing Investigations .

Accordingly The Commission has instructed authorities to remove An Additional Secretary Of Ministry Of Justice,A Provincial Secretary Of Ministry Of Public Administration ,Six Higher Officials attach to Co-operative Wholesale Establishment(CWE),A General Manager Of Ceylon Fisheries Harbors Corporation ,A General Manager,Deputy General Manager and Assistant General Manager of Independent Television Network(ITN)  and a Director Of Coconut Research Institute from their posts with immediate effect.


These Officials have not supported the Presidential Commission Inquiring Fraud And Corruption to investigate into allegations leveled against them according to the Commission.

World Diabetes Day fell today(14).The theme of this year's World Diabetes Day is "Healthy Living Starts At Break first".

A special Diabetes Walk to commemorate World Diabetes Day-2015 was held from Independence Square in Colombo to Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo -07 this morning  with the participation of Government Officials and General Public.

Coincided with the walk A Diabetes Awareness Seminars and Clinics to conduct Blood Sugar Tests free of charge were held at BMICH. this morning.

According to the Physicians around 20% of the Sri Lankan Urban Population are suffering from Diabetes and the disease among Rural Population is on the increase due to Poor eating habits,Lack of Exercises and Mental Stress condition.

Diabetes has now spread   from Infants to Adults in Sri Lankan Society according to Local Physicians.

Indian Government Has Reduced The Electronic Tourist Visa Fee For Sri Lankans Visiting India By 35 US Dollars

Indian Government has reduced the Electronic Tourist Visa Fee for Sri Lankans by  35 US Dollars according to the Indian High Commission of Sri Lanka,

Accordingly Sri Lankans  who are  applying for  Electronic Tourist Visas to visit India will now only have to pay 25 US Dollars reduced  from 60 US Dollars which was operative earlier.

However the Bank  Charge of 2.5% will remain unchanged for the Sri Lankans applying for Electronic Tourist Visa to visit India which was introduced on 14th of April this year.

All The Patients In Chilaw Hospital Have Been Transferred To Three Other Hospitals Due To The Floods

As the Four Wards and Intensive Care Unit(ICU) of Chilaw  District General  Hospital have been submerged by flood waters all the patients stayed in Wards and ICU have been  transferred to  other hospitals with immediate effect it has been reported.

All the patients stayed in Four Wards and ICU of Chilaw Hospital have been transferred to Colombo National,Marawila and Kuliyapitiya Hospitals(In North Western Province).

Around 4661 Persons Reside In Puttalam District(In North Western Province) Have Been Displaced Due To Floods

Around 4661 Persons belonging to 1554 Families reside in Puttalam District (In North Western Province) have been displaced up to now due to the Floods prevails in the area according to Disaster Management Center(DMC).

The Disaster Management Center has established 6 Camps for these Displaced Persons it has been announced.DMC has also taken steps to clean  Canals situated in the area which blocked flowing of water .

So Far There Are No Sri Lankans Among Those Affected Due To Terrorist Attacks In France-Sri Lanka's Ambassador To France

So Far there are no Sri Lankans among persons  those affected  due to the series of Terrorist Attacks carried out at six locations across French Capital France yesterday (13)including at the Stadium  where  a Soccer Match between France and Germany was underway and at a Concer Hall which left more than 150 people died according to Sri Lanka's Ambassador in France Thilak Ranviraja.

The Sri Lanka's Ambassador has informed  the Foreign Ministry here that he is constantly in touch with French Security Officials to check the safety of Sri Lankans living in France .The Ambassador also requested those Sri Lankans who want to know more information on their relatives and loved ones living in France to dial 003789238926 .

Meanwhile Sri Lankans in Paris  who need any assistance regarding safety  can contact Retired Col.Nazeer Majis through the number 0033620505232 or Deputy Chief Of Mission in Paris Ms,Gunasekere through 0033677048117.the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry has announced.

Due to the Terrorist Attacks carried out By Terrorists on Friday at Six locations by using AK-47 Fire Arms and Bombs in  French Capital Paris and Saint Denis where the Soccer Match between France and Germany was underway and at a Concert Hall , more than 150 people believed to be killed according to the Foreign Media Reports.Eight Terrorists who were involved in shootings and bombings of the attack were also killed the Associated Press News Agency has reported.
