The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO ) had revised it's fuel prices with effect from midnight last night(31) according to the Corporation .
Accordingly a liter of Octane 92 petrol had been increased by Rs.20 ,A liter of Octane-95 petrol had been increased by Rs.10 and a Liter of Super Diesel had been increased by Rs.12 .The prices of A liter of Lanka white Diesel and Kerosene oil had been reduced by Rs.02 and Rs.10 respectively
The Auditor General W.P.C Wikramaratne had appointed a15 member investigation team to investigate on the importation of Sub standard medicine to the country since 2022 upto now. .
The Investigation Team Consists of officials and doctors representing the Ministry of Health ,Medical Supplies Division ,State Oharmaceuticals Corporation ,Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation ,And representatives of Major Hospitals in the ialand including Colombo National Hospital.

French President Emmanuel Macron who had visited Sri Lanka for a brief period on last friday (28)night, the first ever by a french president in History ,met with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wikramasinghe and held bi lateral talks at the Katunayake Intetnational Airport premises.
Both presidents held bi lateral talks for more than one hour and French president had promised to support sri lanka on debt restructuring process and many other fields it has been reported.

Two persons including a Russian national and a female resident in Kandy district had died and two others critically injured and hospitalized after the Motor car they were travelling in had toppled over to a precipice at ududumbara area in Meemure road , Kandy today(29).The deceased Russian natonal was 28 years old and the female was 51 years old it has been revealed.

Colombo Chief Magistrate had yesterday(28) ordered the Cinnamon Gardens police to release the former convener of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF)Wasantha Mudalige on a,surety bail of Rs.100,000 .
The Chief Magistrate had ordered the Police to release the former Convener on bail after been priduced before the Court yesterday.Mudalige was arrested by the Cinnamon Gardens Police over not appearing before the Court to.face the case filed against him over protesting in front of the Mimistry of Higher education in colombo in 2020 by violating a court order .
Two Collage Students were killed after the Motorcycle ridden by them was crashed into a lamp post near the Thambagalla River at Madampe area( North Western province) last evening (27) according to the Madampe Police.
The deceased students were 16 year olds and residents of Madampe and Ruwanwella areas the Police have stated.

Cinamon Gardens Police had yesterday(27) arrested two members of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) including the former convener Wasantha Mudalige over not appearing before the court regarding the case filed against them for protesting infront of the Ministry of Higher Education on 27 th of February 2022.
Accordingly Cinamon Gardens police had arrseted the two IUSF members on the arrest warrents issued by the court .

Colombo Additional Magistrate had yesterday (26)released 17 traders including the president of the Maning Market Traders union who were arrested over holding a protest Campaign in front of the Paliyagoda Maning town market by viloating a court order .The traders were released on a,surety bail of Rs.100,000 each.

The Ministry Of Trade had withdrawn the two Gazette Notifications issued earlier regarding the Maximun Retail price of an Egg with effect from midnight last night (25) according to the Ministry .
Two new Gazette notifications were issued last night replacing the previous notifcations issued regarding selling of an Egg each and A Kilo Of Eggs the Ministry had stated.Due to the Maximum retail price Gazette notification a shortage of Eggs occcured in the local market since a few months .
Government had earlier fixed a maximum retail price for Brown egg and white egg as Rs.46 and Rs.44 respectively .Meanwhile Government had taken steps to issue stocks of eggs imported from India to all supermarket and Sathosa chains with effect from yesterday from Rs.35 each.Earlier these eggs were issued only for hotelliers and bakers.
A Nine and half hour long water cut is scheduled to be implemented today (26)in seven areas of Gampaha District (Western Province )from 8.30 a.m to 6 p.m ) according to the National Water supply and drainage board.

Import restrictions imposed over 328 items were relaxed with effect from yesterday (20) according to the State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya .The gazette notification regarding the relaxing of these import restrictions was issued last night (20) the Minister had stated.
These import restrictions were imposed due to the economic crisis faced by the country as a result of the shortage of foreign reseves . Government had lifted the import restrictions imposed on 300 items including Electronic equipment and sanitaryware last month.However the Inport restrictions imposed on motor vehicles still remains.
A 24 year old french female had been injured and hospitalized due to a Wild Elephant attack at Sithulpawwa Raja Maha Temple in Hambanthota district (Southern Province) yesterday(20).

A 29 year old underworld gang member was shot and killed by the members of the Special Police Task force(STF) personal during a gun shooting incident occured at a hospital in Mahagama,Minuwangoda area(Colombo) in the wee hours of last morning (20).
