The State Minister Of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya had ordered the Department of Trade and Investment policies to submit a report on increasing the prices of Wheat Flour and Sugar in the local Market.
The Essentials Importers Association had earlier stated the wholesale prices of a kilo gramme of Wheat flour and Sugar had been increased by Rs.10 and Rs.25 .
However State Minister of Finance had stated that there cant be a price increase of Wheat Flour and Sugar at a time Sri lankan rupee is depreciating against the US Dollar.The prices of Wheat flour too dropped in the world market he had stressed .
