The Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC ) had also reduced the fuel prices similar to the that of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) the company has announced.
Accordingly the prices of Octane-92,Octane-95 Petrol ,White and Super Diesel had been slashed.

A Person Died Due To An Electrocution
A 40 year old person had died due to and electrocution in Kopai,Jaffna district (Northern province ) yesterday(30),according to the
.
The deceased had faced this incident whilst working at a Vehicle maintainance center in Kopai main road .His body lying at Kopai district hoapital.
Ceypetco Reduced The Fuel Prices
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) had reduced the prices of four varities of Fuel with effect from midnight yesterday(30) .
Accordingly a liter of Octane -92 petrol had been reduced by Rs .07,Octane-95 by Rs.10,Lanka White Diesel by Rs.15 and Super Diesel by Rs.135 it has been announced.
However the Prices of Kerosene oil will remain unchanged

PHI"s Sealed A Store With 1080 Metric Tones Of Expired Rice
The Public Health Inspectors (PHI)in Gothatuwa area (Colombo District) had sealed a Store at Sedawatte area in Wellampitiya (Colombo) which stored 1080 Metric tones of imported rice which is not suitable for human consumption .
The stock of Rice recovered from.the store had expired in december last year (2022) it has been revealed.The PHI's had taken steps to send the samples of the recovered stock of rice to the government analyst according to sources.
A Person Was Shot Dead In Southern Province
A 37 year old person was shot dead by an unidentified gunman inside a house at Lunugamwehera town (Southern province )last friday night (28) according to the police.
The deceased had succumbed to his injuries whilst taking to the hospital for treatment it has been revealed.The gunman who had arrived in had fired gun shots at the deceased when there was a power cut police investigations had revealed.
Land Slide Warnings Issued To Four Divisional Secretariets
National Building Research Organization (NBRO)had yesterday (29)issued landslide warnings to three divisional secretariets belongs to three Districts due to the adverse weather prevailing in.
Accordingly landslide warnings had been issued to Haldummulla divisional secretariet in Badulla district ,Kegalle divisional secretariet in Kegalle district and Udapalatha divisional secretariet in Kandy district it has been reported.Those areas had received over 75 mili meters of rain yesterday according to NBRO.

Resolution On The EFF Facilty Of IMF Received Parliamentary Approval
The resolution on the Extended fund facility offered to Sri Lanka by International Monetary Fund (IMF ) presented to the Parliament by President Ranil Wikramasinghe, had been passed yesterday (28)with the majority of 95 votes .
During the voting 120 MP''s including the MP's oof Sri Lanka Podujana peramuna had voted in favour of the resolution whilst 25 MP's including the MP's of Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) had voted against the resolution.
All MP's representing main opposition Samagijanabalawegaya (SJB) except National list MP A.H.M Fowzie had abstain during the vote along with MP's of Tamil National Alliance and Uttara,Lanka Alliance .MP Fowzie had voted in favour of the resolution .The debate on the resolution was held on 26th,27th and 28 th of April.
Ten Hour Long Unreasonable Water Cut To Be Implemented In Some Areas In Colombo Today (29)
Another unreasonable 10 hour long water cut is scheduled to be implemented in some areas of Colombo District this morning (29)from 11 am to 9 p.m due to an essential maintainance work in a main panal of the water purification plant in Kolonnawa (Colombo District)the National Water Supplies and Drainage Board (NWSDB) had announced.
Accordingly this water cut is scheduled to be implemented in Kolonnawa Urban council area,Ethul kotte ,Rajagiriya,Nawala,Obesekarapura,Bandaranaikapura,Moragasmulla,Koswatte Open university in Nawala main roads and by roads the Water Board had stated.
Amidst spreading of many respiratory illnesses in the country Water Board management is continuously implementing long hour water cuts in many areas of Colombo District during weekends aiming of earning over time payments it has been revealed.
Thirty One Students Hospitalized Due To Food Poisioning
Thirty One students studying in Nanu oya Primary school at Nuwara Eliya district had been hospitalized due to food poisoning it has been reported.The group of students were admitted to Nuwara Eliya district hospital with symptoms including fatigue and vomiting after consuming their lunch it has been reported.

Two Senior DIG's Questioned On Their Transferes
Two of the Senior Deputy Inspectot General Of Police (DIG) who are among the seven DIG's given immediatte transferrres by the Inspector General Of Poice (IGP) C.D Wikramaratne recently ,had openely questioned on the transferes citing it didnt follow the due process

Adrressing the Parliament during the debate held in parliament on EFF facility offered by the International Monetary Fund(IMF),President Wikramasinghe has told that the total debt of Sti lanka now stands at USD 83.5 Billion comprising of USD.41.5 Billion as foreign debt and USD 42 billion as domestic debt .The debt restructuring process will be not suspended under any circamstance he has stressed.

A Man Was Arrested Over Making False Bomb Scare
A Man who called 118 emergency number to provide false information on a possible attack in the Akurana area had been arrested by the police in Harispattuwa area (Kandy District ) this morning (22).
The suspect had phoned the emergency number on 18th of April and provided the authorities with false information about a bomb threat to Mosque in Akurana area during the fasting period of Muslim community the Police have stated .Following the bomb scare special police teams were deployed in Akurana area to strengthen the security in the area .
Three Teachers Arrested Over Assaulting A Student
Three teachers were arrested by the Police yesterday (21) over allegedly assaulting a 19 year old student studying in a school in Maha Oya area (Sabaragamuwa Province) .
Accordingly Maha Oya Police had arrested a student of the ages 34,37 and 43 years,following an investigation launched into a complaint lodged at the Maha Oya Police by the mother of the victimized student .The assaulted student had been admitted to the Maha Oya Base hospital for the treatment ,
The three teachers arrested over the incident are due to be produced before the Dehiattakandiya Magistrate Court ,

Another Stock Of Imported Eggs Arrived
A ship carrying one million eggs imported from India had arrived in Colombo Harbour yesterday (20) according to the government.
This stock of imported Eggs is scheduled to be issued to the large scale Bakery owners and Hotels after being tested by the officials of Animal Production and Health Department it has been revealed.With this stock the government had imported around five million eggs to Sri lanka so far .

A 11 Year Old Boy Died After Knocling Down By A Lorry
A 11 year old boy had died after he was knocking down by a Lorry last afternoon (18) at hettipola area (North Western Province) .The deceased had attempted to cross the road when he was knocked down by the lorry came from the opposite direction it has been revealed .
