A wild elephant was killed and another two Wild Elephants had been injured after the trio was knocked down by a speeding train at Hathras kotuwa in Habarana area (North Central Province)this morning

The train which collided with the three Wild elephants was traveling from Batticaloa to Colombo at the time of the incident and it was derailed due to the incident according to the Sri Lanka Railways .As a result of the derailment the operations along Batticaloa train route was delayed Railways has stated ,
