President Gotabhya Rajapakshe Said To Be Have Sent His Resignation Letter To The Speaker? -Reports

 The Resignation Letter of President Gotabhya Rajapakshe had been received by the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane short while ago government  sources have stated  .


President Rajapakshe who had fled  the country in the  wee hours of last Morning (13) along with wife Ayoma rajapakshe and two security officers had sent his resignation letter to the Speaker via e mail from Singapore according to the sources .

President had arrived in Maldives last Morning from Air force Jet flying from Katunayake International Airport and amidst protest campaigns launched by Sri Lankans there he had stayed at a Star hotel in capital Male until this noon according to reports ,

However due to the opposition of local and Sri Lankan community in Male  as well as of Opposition parties in Maldives he left for  Singapore through a Saudi Air flight and touched down at  the Changi International Airport there around 5 p.m Sri Lankan time according to the  foreign Media .

Earlier President had promised that he will step down from Executive Presidency on Wednesday (13) but as he fled  the country in wee hours yesterday he had continuously delayed sending the resignation letter to the  Speaker .His delay of sending the letter may be due to the uncertainty risen regarding finding a place for him to reside  critics have  believed .

Meanwhile Speaker had not yet announced officially  that he had received the resignation letter from president and officials are inspecting the legal validity of the letter it has been reported , 

President Rajapakshe had fled  the country after the protesters of GO Gota home village in Galle Face green in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo  along with tens of thousands of people  arrived in Colombo from various parts of the country had captured his official residence in Galle face on 09th of July .
