Government To Restrict The Use Of Electricity And Fuel In Government Offices

Government has decided to strictly restrict the use of Electricity and fuel in Government offices  with immediate eefect  in view of the Dollar shortage faced by the Government .

 Cabinet has approved a Cabinet proposal make recommendations in this regard submitted by the Minister of   Public Services ,Provincial Councils and local government bodies Janaka Bandara Tennakoon ,

The Cabinet Proposal had also recommended to suspend the issuing extra fuel for the official vehicles use by Ministers /MP's and Government officers and also restricted calling officers in outstation areas to Colombo ,Air conditioners in Government offices should be switched off from 2.30 -4.30 p.m daily and officials are advised to hold meetings and discussions by using Zoom technology ,Also Government officers are being advised to use stair case instead of Elevators .
