A massive Protest March and a Rally were organized by the main opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya Party opposing the rising inflation rates ,rising prices of essential commodities ,Fertilizer shortage ,Power cuts ,shortage of Gas,fuel and other commodities, held in Colombo this evening (15) with the participation of massive Crowds.
The protesters wer surrounded the Presidential secretariet in Colombo fort and burnt effigies and banners by demanding the current government to go home .
Many who gathered on the roadside to view the protest had cheered and encouraged the protesters .
Due to the protest march and protest rally held this evening transport services in and around Colombo had come to a standstil.Security has tightened in and around Colombo due to this protest
