Petroleum Corporation Finally Agreed To Supply Fuel For Electricity Board -No More Power Cuts As Planned

 Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco )which is currently being faced with severe fuel shortage had  finally   agreed to supply the required amount of Fuel including diesel to Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) for a period of two weeks to generate uninterrupted electricity supply .

Earlier Ceylon Electricity Board has decided to impose an Island wide power cuts with effect from today (24) as a result of closing down many  power plants belongs to CEB  due to the fuel shortage .

Meanwhile President Gotabaya Rajapakshe too had requested the Ceylon Electricity Board today not to impose power cuts as planned and Minister of Finance Basil Rajapakshe had stated that he will take steps to import the required amount of fuel need by Electricity Board from India  after next two weeks
