President"s Secretary P.B Jayadundara had today (05) instructed the Import -Export Controller to issue a Gazette notification banning the Import of palm oil to Sri lanka.
This instruction was made accordance to the advise of President Gotabaya Rajapskshe Presidents secretary has stated .President Rajapskshe had advised the authorities to stop releasing the stocks of imported Palm oil to the local market .
Meanwhile palm cultivation in Sri lanka has been banned according to sources .
