Notorious Criminal and Drug Kingpin Samarasinghe Arachchige Madush Lakshitha allias Makandure Madush had shot dead this morning (20) at Applewatte Housing scheme in Maligawatta area during a crossfire between Police officers attached to Colombo Crimes Division (CCD).
The deceased Makandure Madush who had been brought back to Sti Lanka by Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers from Dubai during Good governance government last year ,was under the custody of CCD and he was taken to Maligawatte Housing scheme by the Police in search of 22 kilo grammes of Narcotics hidden in the area it has been revealed .
During the raid a group of drug smuggkers. Arrived in the area had exchanged gunshots with police and due to a ginshot fired by a Police officer Makandure Madush had been killed according to Police .Two police officers attached to CCD were also injured and hospitalized due to the incident .
CCD Officers had recovered 22 Kilo grammes of Narcotics worth Rs.220 million hidden at the area later and another 10 Kilo grammes of Heroin hidden at Kotikawatte area accordance to the information provided by Madush earlier .
After the Magisterial inquiry on the death of Madush his body was handed over to His legal. Wife out. Of his two wives present .
