Former Sri Lankan Ambassador To Russia Udayanga Weerathunga who had been arrested and remanded over the scandalous Mig Aircraft deal ,has been granted bail yesterday (03) by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.Accordingly Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake had released the former Sri Lankan Ambassador on Rs. 2.5 million worth cash bail and two Surety bails of Rs.50 million each after hearing his case through video technology.
Suspect Weerathunge who was arrested on his arrival last February had been remanded by the court and was in prison Hospital until Yesterday.
The Magistrate had announced the decision based on the spreading of Corona virus in the country. it has been stated.
