Airport Security officers have arrested
a Duty free Complex Employee at the departure lounge of the Katunayake International Airport yesterday (20)whilst attempting to smuggle 40 Gold Biscuits weighing around 04 Kilo Grammes out of the Airport illegally .
The suspect had handed over to the Airport customs officers for further investigations .
The stock of Gold biscuits taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is worth around Rs.40 million it has been revealed .
Security officers believes an Air passanger arrived in Katunayake Airport might have given the stock of Gold biscuits to the employee to smuggle outside the Airport .
Investigations are underway over the incident .
