According to the Extra ordinary Gazette
Notification signed and issued by President Maithripala Sirisena on dissolving Parliament although President does not have the power to do so under the 19th Amendment of the Constitution, Parliamentary Election is scheduled to be held on 05 th of January 2019.
Nominations for the Election should be handed over from 19th of November to 26 th of November 2018 it says.
The newly Elected Parliament to be convened on 17th of January 2019 as per the Gazette Notification.
It has been revealed that President has moved to dissolve Parliament although it is unconstitutional, Mainly due to his inability to get the support of 113 MP's in Parliament to his newly appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe .
President Sirisena has said on Monday during a protest rally held at Parliamentary Roundabout, That 113 majority in Parliament has been achieved .
However today it has been reported new Premier only have the support ofor around 104 MP's in Parliament.
