A 40 Year Old Female Was Killed Due To A Misfire At Ja-Ela
A 40 year old female was killed after
the gun shots fired by an unidentified Gunman targeting a motorist ,fired towards her this noon (30)near Ja-Ela -Weligampitiya junction.
The critically injured female who was travelling in a Motor Car at the time of the incident had succumbed to her injuries after admission to the Intensive Care Unit of Ragama Teaching Hospital .The deceased female was a resident of Ja-Ela and she had faced this incident whilst she and her eight year old daughter on the way home at Ja-Ela after attending the morning church mass
The daughter of the deceased has escaped unhurt.

The Law and Order Minister's instructions came as per the advise of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe as it will not be fair for IGP to attend the Workshop under an enviornment which an inquiry is being held against him at present Prime Minister has stated.
An inquiry against IGP Pujith Jayasundara is being conducted by a Three Member special committee over an allegation leveled against him over accepting Rs.1.2 million as a bribe from the head of Trinity Collage ,Kandy .
Along with the IGP ,another four members including Deputy Minister of Law and Order Nalin Bandara are being scheduled to leave for the seminar at Scotland Yard Police.

Twenty Two Newly Hatched Snakes Have Been Recovered From A House At Minneriya
Residents of a House at Jayanthipura,
Minneriya -Polonnaruwa have recovered 22 newly hatched snakes in their house both yesterday (29) and today (30) it has been reported .
Accordingly 14 newly hatched snakes have been recovered yesterday (29)and 8 snakes have been recovered within today at the house .
After being informed the Veterinary doctors attached to the Veterinary unit of the Girithale Wild Life office had arrived at house and taken the group of snakes with them.The snakes were later released to the Somawathiya National Wild Life Park.

The injured wife and son of the deceased Police Inspector along with the female Doctor who was also injured due to the incident have been admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred when the Motor Car driven by deceased Police Inspector Travelling from Biralesgamuwa to Colombo was collided with the Motor Car driven by Female Doctor travelling from Colombo to Piliyandala area it has been revealed.
The Female Specialist Doctor who was under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident has driven the vehicle in high speed it has been reported.
As the female Doctor was responsible gorgeous the incident Gangodawila Magistrate has visited the doctor at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital today and ordered to Remand her over the incident .The suspected doctor is currently receiving treatment under Police protection.

Two Persons Arrested With A Stock Of Cannabis During A Raid Carried Out At Cannabis Cultivation In Udawalawa Reserve

Corruption Control Unit of Walana Police have raided a Cannabis Cultivation land secretly maintained at a 3 acre land area at Udawalawa reserve and arrested two persons along with a stock of dried Cannabis and recovered a large number of cannabis plants recently.
The two suspects have been handed over to Hambegamuwa Police for further investigations and the stock of dried Cannabis taken in to custody in possession of the suspects has been destroyed by the Police.
The estimated value of the stock of Cannabis that was destroyed is around Rs.3 million according to Police.

Accotingly government has decided to suspend the importation of new vehicles for Minister's,State Departments, Statutory Boards,All state Institutes and Public Enterprises until further notice , impose 100 percent cash margin for en importing Air conditioners, Refrige rators ,TV's,Phones (Mobile and Land),Perfumes ,Tyres and shoes,suspend the issuance of Duty Free vehicle permits for Parliamentarians for a one year period, Suspend the issuance of concessionary Vehicle permits to Government service employees for six month period and dropped the leasing rate of Hybrid vehicles from 70 percent to 50 percent.
Government will monitor the Exchange rates closely and take necessary acations to protect the economy according to the Ministry.

Sri Lanka Medical Council Has Decided To Give An Opportunity To One Female SAITM Student To Apply For SLMC Registration
The SAITM Graduate has filed a case at Court Of Appeal against not giving the SLMC registration to SAITM Graduates where the Court has given a verdict in.favour of her by ordering SLMC to give the registration.
However as the authorities have Appealed Against the verdict at Supreme Court the Appeal was heard and finally Supreme Court too approved the Court of Appeal s order.

Jayasundsra has been questioned today (28)by a Three Member committee for nearly three hours over the allegations levelled against him on accepting Rs.20..2 million from a former Principle Of Trinity Collage as a bribe according to the Deputy Minister of Public Administration ,Management and Law and Order Nalin Bandara.
Addressing a Press Briefing held at United National Party (UNP) Headquarters in Colombo today ,The Deputy Minister has said that IGP Jayasundara has appeared before the Three Committee this morning in Colombo as per requested by the Committee and had given a statement for nearly three hours over the charges levelled against him.
The Committee was appointed by Minister Of Law and Order Ranjith Madduma Bandara to inquire on the Bribery charges levelled against IGP and the Committee report is scheduled to be handed over to the Minister shortly.
The future action against the IGP will be taken as per the recommendations of the Committee according to the Deputy Minister Bandara.

The critically injured who was a resident of Siyambalagaswewa area had succumbed to his injuries while transporting him to the Rambawa Hispital it has been revealed.
The incident occurred while the deceased on the way to his cultivation land last night .

Excavation Work Of The Mass Grave At Mannar Temporarily Halted-Bone Parts Of Around 141 Bodies Recovered
The excavation work of the Mass Grave
at the demolished old CWE (Sathosa) building site at Mannnar has been temporarily halted from 21 st of September due to weather condition it has been revealed.
Bone parts of around 141 unidentified bodies have been recovered from the grave and out of them Bone parts of 135 Bodies have been removed through excavations it has been revealed.
The recovered bone parts have been sealed and stored at Mannar Magistrate Court complex according to reports.
The excavations of Mass Grave are due to be resumed from 01st of October according to the authorities.
The Mass Grave has been recovered after recovering of bone parts from the Soil removed from demolished Old CWE Building site at Mannar transported to Emil Nagar on 26th of March.
Earlier there were plans to send the recovered bone parts to a Lab in Califirnia ,USA for a carbon test .
