A 23 year old youth Prisoner who was arrested and remanded over stealing of Gold Jewelry and cash had committed suicide by hanging himself at Gampola Prison it has been reported.
The deceased who was a resident of Doragula in Gampola area had been sentenced to prison until 20 th of July by the Gampola Magistrate Court recently after getting arrested by the Pussallawa police over stealing Gold Jewelry and cash from houses in Gampola it has been revealed.
The youth who was also addicted to Heroin was kept in Gampola Prison while transporting to Pallekele prison ,where the incident occurred.
