A Luxury Motor Car Had Caught Fire In Galle Face
A luxury Motor Car transporting a
group of persons to Katunayake Airport had been damaged after it caught fire near the Galle Face roundabout this evening (31).
The Colombo Fire services Department along with Police had doused the fire and no one in the Motor Car was injured due to the incident.The Cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.
Due to the incident a heavy traffic congestion had been reported in the area.

to the Kotaveheragala Mountain Reserve at Wellawaya area had been destroyed up to now due to a sudden fire erupted in the reserve this evening (31 ).

Health Minister To Reduce Prices Of 25 Essential Drugs
Prices of 25 Essential Drugs including prices of 10 Essential Expensive Cancer Drugs will be reduced soon according to the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Among those Essential Drugs selected for price reduction are Drugs prescribed for Diabetes,Asthma and Prostate Cancer the Minister has stated.However he had not revealed when the prices of these Drugs will be reduced.

The female victim who had arrived in Sri Lanka recently with her Mother had faced this incident when she had visited the Massage Centers for a Body Massage.

A 76 year old person had been
sentenced to eight year rigorous imprisonment today (31)by the Colombo High Court over sexually abusing a five year old girl in 2009.
Colombo High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi had also imposed a Rs.20,000 fine on the accused who found guilty over the sexual abuse after long running court case .Judge had ordered the accused to pay Rs.50,000 as a compensation to the victim who was five years old when the incident occurred in 2009 it has been revealed.

involved in Tea Trade had been arrested by the Airport Security officers while attempting to smuggle more than Rs.10 million worth US Dollars Currency notes (11,173,400) to Oman's Capital Muscat at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport today (31).
Accordingly Airport Security Officers had been arrested a 51 and 57 year old Businessmen who had attempted to smuggle US Dollar Currency notes hidden in their luggage.
The two suspects were in Sri Lanka for a one month vacation and faced this situation while attempting to flying to Muscat,Oman.

One School boy was killed and 11 other School Children and a Three Wheeler Driver had been injured and Hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in colliding with a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Bus at Pulyankulama area in Vavuniya this noon (30).
The injured 11 School Children critically had been admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital for treatment according to Puliyankulama Police.

Two Persons Arrested With A Stock Of Illegal Cigarette Cartons
Two persons have been arrested with a stock of Cigarette Cartons illegally brought to Sri Lanka by the Intelligence Officials attached to the Special Task Force Personal in Trincomalee with the assistance of Naval Intelligence Officials at Codbay Fisheries Harbor in Trincomalee yesterday (28).
The suspects had been involved in Smuggling Cigarette Cartons in to the country from sometime and they were handed over to the China Bay Police in Trincomalee for further investigations it has been revealed.
The estimated value of the Cigarette sticks in the stock of Cartons taken into custody in possession of the suspects is around Rs.50,000.

Bulathsinghala Police have arrested a
Van Driver and a Security Officer over assisting a group of Robbers to steal Rs.20.24 million belonging to a Security firm yesterday (28)while taking the Money to deposit in ATM Machines at Pahala Naragala in Bulathsinghala-Horana area.
The Robbers arrived in from a Jeep covering their faces had thrown chili powder on to the faces of two cashiers who were in the Van transported the Money and stolen cash bags it has been revealed.
The Van driver and the Security Officer were in the Van at the time of the robbery and others were consuming food at a Caffè during a break according to reports.The Security Officer even not with the gun he usually carrying while transporting Money and the back door of the Van not locked at the time of the incident Police have stated.
The two suspects arrested have been produced before the Mathugama Magistrate Court and the Court allowed the Police to question the suspects by keeping them under detention.
The Robbers had been stolen 12 out of the 19 Cash bags in the Van and the Steel Box which carried the bags locked by using normal paddalocks Police have said.The money was transported to two banks in Narahenpita to deposit in ATM.Machines.

A 21 Year Old Youth Who Was Under The Influence Of Liquor Has Drowned After His Drunken Friends Thrown Him To Kandalama Wewa
A 21 year old youth attached to a Private Company in Colombo had been drowned in Kandalama Wewa(Tank)this evening (28) after a group of his workplace friends thrown him who was heavily drunk at that time to the Wewa it has been reported.
Dambulla Police have arrested 16 persons who are attached to the same Company where the deceased youth had worked over the incident.All the suspects were heavily drunk at the time of their arrest according to the Police.
The Group of persons arrested along with the deceased youth had arrived in Kandalama from Colombo for a trip and soon after their arrival the group begun to drink Liquor and behaved wild and bathing a place where bathing is strictly prohibited according to witnesses.

nd hospitalized after the Motorcycle they were travelling in colliding with a Colombo-Jaffna Express Train at the Nelukkulama Unprotected Railway Crossing in Ariyalai, Jaffna this afternoon (28).
