Samaraweera has appointed three females for the top post of Two National Electronic Media Institutions The National Rupavahini Corporation and Independent Television Network(ITN) and the SALACINE productions Limited with immediatte effect.
Accordingly Film and Tele Drama Director Inoka Sathyangani Has Been Appointed as the New Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation ,Thilaka Jayasundara as the Chairman of ITN and Uma Rajamanthri as the Chiairman Of SALACINE Limited.

- Earlier The Ministry Of Finance and Media had requested the Heads of the Government Media Institutions to step down from their posts in view of appointing new heads for the Institutes.
