Colombo High Court has today(04) sentenced a clerk and Registrar attached to Ampara District Court a four year jail term over accepting Rs.4500 as a bribe from a person to issue a copy of a court order released by the District Court.The Colombo High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi had also imposed fines of Rs.6000 and Rs.3000 on the Registrar and Clerk respectively over the charges leveled against them.
Both the suspects were charged over accepting the bribe from a person on 17th of July 2009.Bribery commission had arrested them and filed a case against them in the High Court.
