All Five Spill Gates Of Udawalawe Reservoir Have Been Opened Due To The Rising Water Level

All the five spill gates of the Udawalawe Reservoir have been opened this morning(15) by releasing 6000 cubic feets of water per seconds to the walawe River due to the rising water levels of the Reservoir according to the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority.

Due to the opening of spill gates of Udawalawe Reservoir ,the Authority had requested the people living in low land areas of Walawe River and people in Ambalanthota area who use the water to be vigilant over possible floods.

Meanwhile the travelling of heavy vehicles on the dam belonging to Udawalawe Reservoir have been temporarily suspended it has been announced.
