The owner of the BMW Motor Car which toppled in to the Diyawanna Lake last Saturday (17)due
to the high speed driving ,was surrendered to the Police yesterday (19)
and due to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate Court today(20).
The suspect who had fled away from the scene after the accident was surrendered to the Thalangama Police yesterday through a lawyer and was taken into custody by the Police.He is reported as a relative of a Minister of the current government.
The suspected businessman F.M Hussain who is a resident of Borella had referred to the Mulleriyawa Hospital for a test as Police believes he was under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident.
No one was injured due to the accident .
