President Maithripala Sirisena has today (22) instructed the authorities to stop all the Land Fillings,all Constructions and activities that destroying environment in Muthirajawela Wetland Sanctuary .President has also ordered to stop all land refillings in Muthurajawela wetland that have been handed over to private institutions by the state sector.
President had also instructed the authorities to take stern action against any state official that found as encouraging or had encouraged damaging the environment including Muthurajawela .
President had taken these measures after visiting the Muthurajawela Wetland Sanctuary today.Local media had continuously shown the damage done to the environment in Muthurajawela since years.
