One of the major parties in present National
Government chaired by President Maithripala Sirisena ,United National Party (UNP)has decided to carry on the present national government until 2020 during a meeting held among senior leaders of the UNP at Temple Trees this noon(11) under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe .
The party had informed this decision to leaders of other parties attached to the United National Front and due to inform this to other party leaders of the National Government it has been announced.
To inform this decision Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe is scheduled to meet President this evening .
During the meeting held today the senior leaders of UNP had decided to make strong decisions during next few days over fraud and corruption, Unemployment, and Rising cost of living as the local government election results had given a clear message to the government to fulfill election promises related to these issues.
Meanwhile leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) too had stated that the majority of the people who voted in this election had rejected government over not fullfiling promises made during presidential Election in 2015.
