Parliament was adjourned until 23rd of January by the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya this noon (10)due to a tense situation occurred in the house during the special statement made by Prime Minister Ranil Wikrmasinghe on Central Bank Bond Scan issue and steps taken by the Government to probe on the issue.
As a group of Joint Opposition MP's had staged a demonstration in center of the house by displaying placards as a protest a brawl was occurred between few Joint Opposition MP's and governing United National Party MP's it has been reported.
Due to the brawl Joint Opposition MP Ranjith Soyza received minor bruises and a UNP MP had felt faintness according to reports.
Earlier Speaker had adjourned the Parliament for 10 minutes over the Party Leaders meeting.
Meanwhile Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanne had announced that the Bond Commission Report will be tabled in the parliament on 17th of January.
