A heavy traffic prevailed in and around Technical Junction,Maradana and Colombo Fort last night(26)due to a Group of Medical and University Students staged a protest march during night by carrying torches against the Malabe Private Medical Collage(SAITM).The Student protestors begun their protest march jointly organized by the Medical Faculty Students Action Committee and Inter University Students Federation near Colombo Medical Faculty around 7 p.m last night and marched towards Colombo Fort Railway station and held a protest campaign there.
Meanwhile three medical students involved in the protest march were injured and hospitalized last night during the march after a high speed Three Wheeler colliding with the students.The injured students were admitted to Colombo National Hospital.
