Cabinet has approved a proposal on amending the
Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance as enable to impose a life time imprisonment to a person who found guilty over the killing of a Wild Elephant in Sri Lankan court .
Cabinet has approved a proposal submitted to the Cabinet in this regard by the Minister of Wild Life Gamini Jayawikrama Perera according to the Cabinet co-Spokesman Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Due to the Ele Prphant -Human conflict around 240 Wild Elephants have been killed annually according to the Cabinet co spokesman.
