Assistant Superintendent Of Police(ASP) in Tangalle Thushara Daluwatte who has been charged over assaulting a youth who involved in the protest march conducted by Joint Opposition group last week at Hamabanthota against handing over Mattala Airport and Hambanthota Harbour to foreign countries ,has been transferred to Matara with immediate effect.The transfer was made as per an instructions of the National Police Commission.
An investigation is currently underway on the assault case under the instructions of Inspector General of Police(IGP)
One of the organizers of the protest march UPFA MP Namal Rajapakshe recently had severely criticized the assaulting of a youth by ASP Daluwatte during the protest march held in Hambanthota.
