Visiting Australian Foreign Minister Julia Bishop has stated today(20) that the Australian government due to spend Rs.118 million to introduce the latest Dengue control method "Wolbachia" Australian Bacteria to Sri Lanka .
The Monash University in Australia in collaboration with the Ministry Of Health in Sri Lanka due to introduce the Bacteria as a Dengue control method here after successful trials ,Australian Foreign Minister has stressed during her meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena today(20)at President's House in Colombo .
The Bacteria which dismantle the Dengue Mosquito successfully tested in Australia and countries like Brazil,India,Vietnam ,Colombia,and Indonesia as well she has stated.
Australian Government is due to provide Rs.58 million through World Health Organization to Sri Lanka as an assistance to the Dengue Control Programmes conducted by the government Australian Minister has further stated.
