The Disaster Management Center has issued warning to the people living in river banks of Kelani and Kalu rivers to be n vigilant as the water levels of these rivers are increasing due to the heavy showers.Meanwhile a person was injured and hospitalized due to a landslide in Bulathsinghala -Bogahawatte area(Western Province-Kalutara).Several houses in the area have damaged due to the landslide it has been reported.
A person has drowned in flood waters and disappeared in Beliatta (Southern Province) area according to reports.
Relief efforts are being disrupted in many areas of the country as the relief workers not able to reach the affected areas due to the submerged roads.
Meanwhile Air force have deployed two helicopters for the rescue operations in flood and landslide affected areas.
