The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officials have today(25) arrested the Army Brigadier Anura Deshapriya Gunawardena who ordered to shoot the residents of Rathupaswela area in Weliveriya (Western Province)protested by demanding pure water on 01st of August 2013 .The suspected Army Brigadier has been remanded until 31 st of May after being produced before the Gampaha Chief Magistrate this evening.
Due to the shooting incident occurred during previous regime three persons were killed and several others injured and hospitalized.
