While the number of dead persons due to the Meethotamulle Garbage Collapse remains as 27 around 30 persons reported as missing due to the incident according to the Government.However people who lives near the Garbage Dump in Meethotamulle have stated that the number of missing persons who may have buried with their houses due to the collapse may be more than 100.
Three persons who got injured due to the incident is still receiving treatment in Colombo National Hospital and one person is in Intensive Care Unit according to the Hospital Director Dr.Anil Jasinghe.
Meanwhile the funerals of 14 who died due to the Garbage Dump collapse held this evening at Kolonnawa Cemetery with participation of large number of people.However the displaced Meethotamulle residents have not allowed any politician to take part in the funerals or to visit the Garbage Dump it has been reported.
