A Tense Situation Has Occurred After Some Displaced Families Of Meethotamulle Garbage Dump Collapse Refused To Shift To Another Place

A tense situation has occurred today (22) after a
section of the members belonging to the families displaced due to the Meethotamulle Garbage Dump collapse who are staying in Kolonnawa Terrance N De Silva Collage ,refused to shift to another place as requested by the auhorities.

As the government schools are scheduled to re-open for the new term after new year holidays ,Authorities planned to shift the displaced families staying in Terrance Silva collage to the Meethotamulle Paddy Store Complex after the renovation work of it completed by next Monday (24)it has been reported.

Around 75 temporary houses to be built in the Paddy store complex for the displaced families it has been revealed.

When the officials informed on this to the displaced familes some have strongly opposed the move by stating that the Paddy Store Complex not a safe place to live.They have also requested the officials to provide them a storied houses or permanant houses to live.
