Government Has Decided To Name 900 Sri Lankan Historical Heroes Who Led Uva-Wellassa Struggle As Patriots

Government has decided to name 900 Sri Lankan Heroes who led the Uva Wellassa struggle in 1818 against the British rule and labeled as traitors, as patriots .

President Maithripala Sirisean is due to sign a new gazette on 01st of March this year at the historical sacred tooth relic temple "Dalada Maligawa" in Kandy  cancelling the previous gazette issued by British Colonials in which  named the above mentioned Sri Lankan Patriots as traitors it has been reported. 

Earlier President has issued a gazette notification  naming  another 19 Sri Lankan Heroes who led the Uva Wellassa struggle including Keppetipola Adikaram as patriots.
