Sri Lanka Navy personal have arrested Nine local fishermen yesterday(22) while engaging illegal fishing in Sri Lankan waters off Silwathurai area (Northern Province)by using illegal fishing equipment.During the raid carried out by Sri Lanka Navy Personal two fishing nets and two dinghi boats were also taken into custody it has been reported.
The arrested fishermen and equipment were handed over to the inspector of fisheries in Mannar for future course of action.
