Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has today (18) instructed the General Secretary of Parliament to hold an inquiry against an Engineer who is a parliamentary Staffer alleged as sat on the Parliament Speaker's chair at the chamber on Wednesday for a short period of time.Speaker has instructed to hold an inquiry on the incident following a complaint made by United National Party MP Ranjith Aluvihare regarding the incident.The Engineer sat on the Parliament Speaker's chair after Parliament was adjourned on Wednesday(16).
