" New Zealand will provide it's assistance,knowledge and expertise to modify the Sri Lankan Film Industry and to establish a National Film Development Board in the country " the governor general of New Zealand Shrimathi Patsy Reddy pledged to the Sri Lankan delegation headed by Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe which met her recently.During the meeting with Sri Lankan Prime Minister a first of it's kind with a head of state after the New Zealand Governor assumed her duties in her post, Shrimathy Reddy has stated that she will give her personal support too to develop Sri Lankan Film Industry.
During the meeting the New Zealand Governor and Sri Lankan Prime Minister had discussed on bi lateral issues relevant to both countries it has been reported.
