The Air Port Customs Officers had today(24) arrested a Sri Lankan who arrived in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Air Port from Dubai with a stock of 36,200 Illegal Cigarettes concealed in his luggage .
The worth of the stock of Cigarettes arrested by the Air Port Customs is worth around Rs,1.5 million it has been reported.
The suspect who is a Dematagoda Resident arrived in Katunayake Air Port from a Fly Dubai Flight and he had been previously too arrested by the Air Port Customs officers while attempting to smuggle illegal Cigarettes to the country according to sources.
The Air Port Customs Officers had fined the suspect Rs.150,000 after conducted an investigation on the incident and Customs are further investigating on the incident.
