UPAFA MP Jayantha Samaraweera Has Been Arrested By The Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division

The United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) MP Jayantha Samaraweera has been arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) this evening over misuse of state owned vehicles during the previous regime.

The Kaluthara District MP Samaraweera has been arrested after he had given a statement to FCID regarding the allegation leveled against him.

He was arrested in connection with the ongoing inquiry on misuse of 13 vehicles hired by the Presidential Secretariat during the  Presidential Campaign in 2015.
