Major Heart Surgeries including Bypass Surgeries performs in Colombo National,Karapitiya Teaching and Kandy Teaching Hospitals had been cancelled today (27) by putting the lives of thousands of innocent Heart Patients in danger due to the strike launched by Heart Lung Machine Operators.Around fifteen Major Heart Surgeries (Cardiac) performs in these hospitals had been cancelled due to the strike the Hospital Authorities had stated.
The Heart Lung Machine Operators who are controlling the Heart Lung Machines to keep the Patient's Heart artificially active during the Major Heart surgeries have launched a strike today by demanding solutions for five of their service demands.
The emergency Heart Surgeries of the above mentioned hospitals are not affected due to the strike the Hospital Authorities had stated.
