Veteran Radio Journalist Elmo Fernando who is the Colombo Correspondent of BBC's "Sandeshaya" Programme for 20 years has passed away at the age of 75 last night.
He began his career from Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation(SLBC) than known as "Radio Ceylon " in 1960's and left the job in 1970's to join "Veritas" overseas Radio Station .Later he has joined the BBC World Service and became the Colombo Correspondent of it's "Sandeshaya" Sinhalese Programme.
He is a very popular Radio Announcer and producer among Sri Lankan audience and we too had an opportunity to meet this wonderful journalist during health assignments."May his soul rest in peace".
