The Media Spokesman of the National Freedom Front(NFF) Mohommad Muzammil who was detained and remanded last June over misusing of a vehicle belonging to the Presidential Secretariet in 2010 during the previous regime, has been granted bail by Colombo Fort Magistrate today(10).
The Media Spokesman NFF who is also a former MP was released on a cash bail of Rs.25,000 and two personal bails of Rs.1 million each after being produced before the Magsitrate.
The Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) has detained the Muzammil on 20th of June after recorded a statement of him regarding the allegation leveled against him.
The FCID has informed the court today that the NFF Media Spokesman has misused a vehicle belonging to Presidential Secretariet and deposited funds around Rs.6.2million in his wife's accounts which obtained from the State Engineering Corporation to purchase an official vehicle.
