Mathugama Police have detained two persons who had illegally excavated an area in Bopitiya,Mathugama (Western Province) in search of treasures.Police have also taken into custody around 250 grammes of gun powder and equipment used to excavation in possession of the suspects.
The suspects are residents in Mathugama and Dodangoda areas.
