Shop Owners In Hambanthota District Have Staged A Protest Against VAT Increase By Closed Their Shops

Most of the shop owners in Hambanthota District(In Southern Province) have staged a protest campaign today(07) by closed their shops against the recent VAT(Value Added Tax) increase by the government.

Due to the closure of shops daily activities in the District have paralyzed and consumers too faced hardships it has been reported.

The shop owners have staged a protest march against the VAT increase this evening.Government has increased VAT from 4% with effect from 02nd of May.
