The proposed VAT(value added tax) Amendments will not be presented to the Parliament on 20th of July as planned earlier according to the State Minister of Finance Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.
As a faction had today (14)filed a court case against the VAT amendments it will take two to three weeks for government to take a decision on the proposed amendments the Minister has stated.
Earlier the government has announced that it will present the VAT Amendments to the Parliament on 20th of July and taken steps to pass it.
