The Police have used tear gas and water cannons this evening to disperse a protesting university students attached to University of Sri Jayawardenapura near Colpetty Junction (In Colombo City)as they attempted to forcibly march towards Temple Trees.The group of university students who protested against Malabe Private Medical Collage and against combating students had met with Riot Police near Colpetty Junction it has been reported.
Due to the protest march a severe traffic congestion has been reported along high level road and the entry lane of Galle Road was closed from Colpetty.
