Most Shop Owners In Seven Towns In The Country Have Closed Their Shops And Staged A Protest Campaign Against VAT Incraese

Most of the shop owners in Seven towns in the country have closed their shops today(29)and staged a protest campaign against government's decision to increase the value added tax(VAT) on goods.

Accordingly the shop owners in Kadawatha,Kiribathgoda,Kelaniya,Badulla,Anuradhapura ,Bandarawela and Katugasthota towns closed their shops and staged a protest and conducted a protest march against VAT it has been reported.

Due to the shop owners protest consumers in those areas have faced difficulties when purchasing goods according to sources.
