The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine has decided to take a disciplinary action against the Chief Executive Officer of Independent Drug Regulatory Authority Professor Krishantha Weerasuriya who went abroad without getting permission from the Ministry after he returns to the country it has been reported. Professor Weerasuriya has went abroad two weeks ago without getting permission from Health Ministry and not informing the chairman of Regulatory Authority Professor Lal Jayakody it has been revealed.
After learnt on the incident the angry Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has appointed Dr.Kamal Jayasinghe as the acting Chief Executive Officer of Independent Drug Regulatory Authority with effect from last Wednesday(20).
