A 32 Year Old Female Was Killed And Two Others Injured Due To A Three Wheeler -Lorry Collision On Negambo Main Road

Image result for accident graphicA 32 year old female was killed and her husband and 6 year old child  were injured and hospitalized due to a three wheeler they were travelling in collided with a Lorry at periyamulla area on Negambo Main Road according to the Police.

The deceased was succumbed to her injuries after getting admitted to the Colombo National Hospital in critical condition.Her husband and the 6 year old child who were injured  due to the accident  are currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital.

Police have detained the driver of the Lorry regarding the accident.

Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Private Bus Collision In Valachchanai Area

 A 54 year old Person has died  due to a Motorcycle -Private Bus collision occurred at Valachchanai Area(In Eastern Province) yesterday (30)according to the Police.

The Motorcyclist has died due to the accident after getting admitted to the Valachchanai Hospital with critical injuries the Police have stated.

The  Private Bus Driver  was detained over the accident  it has been reported.

A Special Traffic Plan Due To Be Implemented Regarding May Day Celebrations Tomorrow(01)

Accordingly several main roads including Baseline Road from Dematagoda Junction to Borella Junction and Narahenpita Junction to High Leval Road will be closed from 1 p.m to 6 p.m ,Pradeepa Mawatha in Maligawatta will be closed from Jumma Masjid Junction to Sangaraja Roundabout from 9 a.m to 5 p.m ,High level Road near Dickmen's  Road and Havlock Road will be closed from 2 p.m to 6 p.m and Saranankara Road will be closed from 1 p.m to 4 p.m due to May Day Rallies and Parades.

Several other roads out side Colombo City too due to be closed due to the May Day Celebrations according to Police.

French Naval Vessel "ACONIT" Arrived At Colombo Harbor For A Goodwill Visit

A French Naval Vessel "Aconit" had arrived at  Colombo Harbor yesterday(29) for a seven day goodwill visit according to Sri Lanka Navy.

During it's stay in Sri Lanka the Ship's Crew is due to take part in several activities with Sri Lanka Navy.

The State Minister of Defense Ruwan Wijewardena and Defense Ministry Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi had visited the French Naval Vessel yesterday and talked to  Naval Officers on board  the ship it has been reported.

A 53 Year Old Pakistani National Was Arrested At Katunayake ,Bandaraniake International Airport Who Concealed 12 Pellets Of Heroin WithIn His Stomach

Image result for detainedA 53 year old Pakistani National was arrested today(30) by the Police Narcotic Bureau Officials at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport as he entered  the country by concealing 12 pellets of Heroin within his stomach.

After detained at the Airport the suspect was admitted to Negambo Hospital and there  12 pellets of Heroin have been removed from his stomach according to Police Spokesman's Office.

This is the second Pakistani National detained with Heroin in Sri Lanka within a day  after Police Narcotics Bureau had arrested a 21 year old Pakistani National yesterday (29)at a Hotel in Colpetty (Colombo) with a large quantity of Heroin.

Road Development Authority To Allow All Vehicles To Use Southern Expressway Free Of Charge Tomorrow(01)

The Road Development Authority(RDA) has decided to allow all vehicles  to use Southern Expressway free of charge from 6 a.m to 12 in the Midnight tomorrow(01) due to May Day Celebrations according to Chairman of RDA Nihal Suriyaarachchi.

This decision has taken after President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered the Road Development Authority to allow all vehicles to travel free of charge on Southern Expressway tomorrow in view of May Day Celebrations.

The deceased have sustained multiple gun wounds Police Media Spokesman has stated.

Thalassaemia Carriers Among Adults In The Society Are On The Increase

These carriers of Thalassaemia are there in every part of the country and they do not shown any symptom of the  blood related disease Thalassaemia Dr.Silva has stated."Therefore we strongly urged youth and adults to undergo a special blood test  "HPLC" which can identify the disease, before marriage " she has stressed.

This special blood test is providing free of charge at the Colombo Medical Research Institute,Ridgway Children's Hospital,Badulla,Anuradhapura and Kandy Hospitals Dr,Silva has revealed  during a seminar held on "Thalassaemia" at the Government Information Department Auditorium in Narahenpita yesterday (29).

If the disease transmitted to a child through a parent the child  need  to get blood transfusions throughout the  life  according to medical experts,

From Sri Lanka around 3000 Thalassaemia affected children have been reported annually it has been reported.

CID Arrested A Police Constable Attached To Laggala Police Station Regarding Firearms Robbery

The detained Police Constable was in charge of the sub service of the Police Station at the time firearms robbery  occurred it has been reported.

The stolen firearms were later recovered from near a water tank of a Temple.

A Trade Union Has Lodged A Complaint At Human Rights Commission Of Sri Lanka Against The Decision To Cancel All Holidays Of Sri Lanka Transport Board Workers

Image result for human rights commission of sri lanka A Trade Union ,Ceylon Workers Unions Central Board has lodged a complaint at  Human Rights Commission Of Sri Lanka yesterday (29) against the Sri Lanka Transport Board Management's  decision to cancel all holidays of Drivers,Conductors and Technicians attached to Sri Lanka Transport Board( Langama) in view of providing transport facilities to participants of May Day Rallies.

The Management of the Sri Lanka Transport Board has decided to cancel all holidays for the above mentioned workers of Sri Lanka Transport Board from 28th of April to 03rd of May due to the  large number of applications received by requesting Sri Lanka Transport Buses for May Day Rallies it has been reported.

However through the complaint made to the Human Rights Commission, the Ceylon Workers Unions Central Board has urged  as the May Day is a day of workers the Sri Lanka Transport Board's decision to cancel holidays of it's workers is an act of preventing the workers from participating May Day Rallies and Management should have suspended this decision.
